Hi all,
Hope you are doing well !
I suppose you already know that I’m a fan of the classic Montblanc pens of the 1930 era, being the “Golden ages” of fountain pens ;
But not only Montblanc made beautiful pens in that era, how about Pelikan ?
For example the Pelikan 100?
This was - and still is - a technically perfectly made fountain pen, equipped with an excellent filling system and a splendid nib.
As suggested by a friend I decided to design an “oversize “ version of the Pelikan 100.
All dimensions are made proportional to the original design, so in fact it’s an exact ‘blown-up” Pel 100..
The barrel sleeve and section are made from brown/black marbled celluloid, while cap, cap top, and filling knob are black hard rubber.
The green ink window is made from cast acrylic.
The integrated -home made- piston filler unit features a stroke of 30mm, allowing an ink intake of 2.9ml.
The screw-in nib unit is a modern Pelikan 1000.
Clip, cap rings, cap top logo an barrel rings are made from solid 925 Sterling silver.
Hope you like this new design !
As always your comments, critique and suggestions are most welcome .
Stay safe and healthy !
Francis
