Hello fountain pen freinds !
I’ve just enlisted on your amazing forum, thanks for accepting me.
My name is Francis Goossens, also known under my nickname “Fountainbel” on some other fountain pen fora.
I’m 73 years old and a long time fountain pen user, living in Belgium.
Before my retirement Ive worked as chief mechanical designer in the mechanical R&D department of Capsugel ,a company which made gelatin capsules for the pharmaceutical industry.
My job main job was increasing the production speed of the complex capsule production machines.
I’ve collected quiet large fountain pen collection over the years, Sheaffer”s dating from 1930 to 1960 being my major target
Aiming to repair the pens myself, I’ve developed & made several tools for working on these pens, specially for the triumph nib plunger fillers
Being frustrated with the small ink capacity of modern pens, I’ve designed a novel filling system ,the “Bulkfiller” being internationally patented since 3years.
The prototypes were completely made in my shop and thoroughly tested by 4 “frequent writers during a full year.
Their experiences & feedback triggered the implementation of a few improvements.
I’ve designed the five “Bulkfiller" models which are now produced by Conid in Antwerp Belgium, see CONID link below.
Depending of the version the Bulfiller can hold 2, 2,5 or 3ml of ink.
Occasionally I also repair pens from all brands for other collectors.
And I still regularly make Bulkfiller prototypes in various materials.
Still hope to find some exclusive Italian celluloid to make new prototypes !
Thanks for reading so far.
Best regards,
Francis
